Skill Profiles
< Back to LatitudeLearning® Tools
If your training situation requires certified training that is broken into areas of study, creating Skill Profiles will be an advantage for you. To appreciate Skill Profiles, you need a basic understanding of Curriculums.
Curriculums
are a way to certify a user's skills in LatitudeLearning®. Skills are competency-based learning programs, where a person's training history and job performance can certify their professional knowledge and abilities. Skill Profiles define, as a matrix, one or more areas of expertise (Skill Areas) and the varying levels of competency within those areas (Skill Levels).
A student can open the
Skills
page to see their achievements in each Skill Profile, their next training goals, and the certification requirements for each level of expertise.
In the example above, a student is assigned the "eTechnician Skills" profile. This is clearly a product training objective, where core training is required, followed by brand-specific certifications. Four skill areas are listed in rows – Basics, e-Auto, e-Cycles, e-Snow – and four skill levels define competency by column – Entry Level, Bronze, Silver, Gold. This student is already certified to service e-Auto and e-Cycles products, and is now reviewing their "e-Snow Bronze" curriculum goals.
Managers can check student progress from the
Team Skills
page. Drill into a Skill Profile to see which employees have certified, who has been assigned goals at each Skill Level, and manage their enrollments. With the ability to check student progress, the manager can work with the student to keep them on track to completing their curriculum goals.
