The Latitude Learning Team announces the latest release of the Latitude Learning LMS. This release Version (2.5.1.67892) was promoted to production on Saturday, July 18, 2015.
Enhancements:
User Self-Registration – Updated the User Self-Registration function to create the new user with the default user location specified on the Site Management > LMS Information page for portals in which no other customizations to User Self-Registration have been implemented.
User History – Enhanced Course Completion reporting so that user transcripts with a completed score of 0% will now display in the scoring column, instead of a null field. For courses that do not include scored content, that transcript history column will remain blank.
Messages
-- Updated the “Student-Password Reset” system default notification to include both the username and the new password.
-- Created a new message “User Profile Updated - Quick Profile Update” to notify users when administrators change their profiles using the Quick Profile Update tool. This replaces the previous default for this event, “Self-Registration- Request Approved”, which many users reported to be confusing.
Updated failed assessment notification messages to show the maximum number of remaining attempts available to the user.
Add Interests
-- Add Interest tool was overriding course configuration setting “Allow use of interest lists: No”, allowing user interests to be added when applied by organization. We have implemented a new backend process to reference this course setting before creating interest records for a course through the Add Interest tool.
-- The LMS let administrators add an interest for a course that a student does not have access to in his/her course catalog (tied to Business Units). Modified the tool to no longer allow admins to add interest/auto-enroll students in courses outside of their Business Unit.
Resolved Issues:
Course Relaunch Restriction – Courses that were set to “no relaunch” being relaunched by users through an unintentioned workaround. Modified the behavior of the “Launch” button on users’ homepage with new user-transcript check process for completed course history. Now, if users try to relaunch a course designed to launch once, the user will receive a descriptive error message, the homepage refreshes, and the “Launch” button is correctly hidden.
Assessments – Corrected the display of results shown at the end of a completed test so that sub-objectives are listed under the appropriate Parent Objective.
Position Hierarchy – LMS was mistakenly allowing users with administrative roles to see or update users with superior positions. We have fixed the scoping parameter for user Position assignments, once again restricting profile view/edit abilities to users with subordinate positions in the established hierarchy.
Subscriptions – A course can only belong to one subscription at a time. Fixed reported issue where adding courses from the subscription page displayed an “Edit Successful” message, even when courses fail to add. If an admin tries to add a course that already belongs to a different subscription, the LMS will now display an “Edit failed” message instead.
eCommerce Setup – Fixed the bug that was preventing portal administrators from saving PayPal API information in the LMS.
Training Calendar – Fixed reported issue where the “Select Major” drop-down options displayed Major Descriptions instead of Major Titles. Major Titles are displaying once again.
User Group – Fixed reported issue where administrators could not remove a user from a User Group.
Messages – Corrected a bug in which Course Approval Rejection messages were delivered by email but not to the Mail Center.
User History – Restored designed behavior of Department Curriculum tab to display set goal information per department.
Enroll Others
-- In the Enroll Others function, using the Return to Add Students button from the student eligibility results page was clearing the list of students already selected. This has been fixed so that the original list of students selected is retained and additional students can be selected and appended to the list.
-- Administrators who try to copy/paste an Outlook group into the Enroll Others tab will receive an error message by design. We fixed the bug in the error message page so that now, if you click the "Back" button, you will be returned to the Enroll Others page instead of a blank one.
