The Latitude Learning Team announces the latest release of the Latitude Learning LMS. This release (version 2.5.1.64482) was promoted to production on Sunday, August 4, 2013.
ENHANCEMENTS
Mexican Spanish and Canadian French Multi-language Support – Latitude is very pleased to announce the availability of Mexican Spanish and Canadian French language support for all non-Administrator LMS pages. With this update, LMS users can view LMS pages, including custom HTML pages and standard reports, in these alternative languages by simply changing their browser language preference to one of these languages. The LMS then automatically detects the browser preference when accessing/logging into the LMS.
Important Note: Customized LMS pages, reports or messages will NOT be translated as of this release of the LMS. Customers wishing to display customized elements will need to either use available functionality, such as the Message Editor or Site Management – Edit HTML Content feature to configure translations or request Latitude Learning’s assistance to translate customized text.
Additionally, with this update, LMS Administrators will have the ability to define titles and descriptions associated with a number of LMS entities in one or more of these languages including the following LMS entities:
- Announcements Primary Certification Rules Certification
- Position Position Group Certification Progratm
- Skill Profile Course Offering
- Course Major Training Provider Facility
- Room Equipment User Group
- Organization Department Resource
- Category User Instructor
Important Note: An English version of the entity must exist or be added before a non-English version can be defined. For example a Course must have an English Course Description defined before the Administrator can define a Mexican-Spanish Course Description for a given course. The same goes for all of the entities listed above. Language specific custom HTML pages include: Custom_Left_Nav.htm, home_page.htm, Learning-Portal-01 – 10, login_page.htm, and registr_page.htm
Customers wishing to define non-English titles and descriptions should review the following FAQ to see specific details regarding how to use this new feature: https://www.latitudelearning.com/blog/article/1359801/how-do-i-set-up-my-portal-with-multiple-languages
RESOLVED ISSUES
Workflow Issue When Attempting to Remove a User from a User Group – this update addresses a workflow issue that prevented Administrator from being able to remove a user from a User Group in the manner intended.
