Enhance Self-Study Course Type to Support Streaming Video and Resource Content

Overview

Modify the Self-Study course type so that videos and resources can be easily used as course content.

Requirements

1. Enhance Add Course Page 
Enhance the Add Course page so that when Portal Administrator selects “Delivery Method: Self-Study” a new required field displays: 

• Course Content Type – Dropdown menu with two options: Link and Resource
  o If Link is selected, present user with the Link to Content field.
  o If Resource is selected, present user with a single-select type ahead field that matches on Resource Name.

2. Update Course General Information Page
Update the Self-Study Course General Information Page with Course Content Type field described above.

• If user changes the value from Link to Content to Resource, clear the value in existing Link to Content field.
• If user changes the value from Resource to Link to Content, clear the value in existing Resource field.

3. Update Course Details page
On Course Details page, rename action button from “Launch Content” to "Launch".

• Link to Content course should launch URL in new tab.
• Resource content file should download/launch in new tab. 
• If resource file is MP4 format, it should launch in angular Play Video page.

4. Update Courses To Complete page
Update Courses To Complete page to display the Launch button for Self-Study course type when:

• Link to Content field is populated with valid URL. Button should launch URL in new tab.
• Resource content file field is populated. Resource content file should download/launch in new tab.  
• If file is MP4 format, it should launch in angular Play Video page.
