LatitudeLearning, the learning platform that helps increase sales, decrease warranty costs and increase customer retention, streamlines training coursework and is now being used to train process servers in the state of Georgia.
Serving the metro-Atlanta area and surrounding counties, PapersServed is in the business of serving court documents, including summons and subpoenas, divorce papers, child custody documents, foreclosures, notices, statements of claim, dispossessories, and discovery requests.
Owned by Madeline Anne Lane, PapersServed is well-versed in the tools of its trade, which includes knocking “on every door,” asking questions and waiting for answers. When needed or appropriate, photos and car tag information are taken to aid a client’s ability to move forward with their court case.
Anne operates AcademyGPPS, a pre-certification program that enables potential process servers to prepare for their certification exam.
Process serving is a nuanced trade that is regulated by laws and licensing procedures that vary between states. While the state of Georgia does not require a private process server to be licensed, there is a required certification process to serve papers for certain courts. As defined in O.C.G.A. 9-11-4.1, certification requires a 12-hour course on process serving, after which a proctored exam approved by the Administrative Office of the Courts must be taken and passed.
“My training program is a state-required pre-certification exam pre-requisite and is perfectly suited to the LatitudeLearning platform,” Anne said, adding that she chose our platform because the software is well designed and user-friendly.
LatitudeLearning not only benefits her training and certification workflow, but Anne’s financial resources can be used elsewhere because she doesn’t have to hire presenters for coursework.
“The students have full control over the completion of their course,” she added, noting that she doesn’t need to schedule mandatory classes that cut into potential process servers’ valuable time. Students are able to engage in their coursework when it is most convenient for them, learning at their own speed until they are ready to take their certification exam.
The coursework Anne provides through LatitudeLearning is fully accredited by the Judicial Council of Georgia/Administrative Office of the Courts, offering education for first-time process servers and those who require continued education for certification renewal.
“Our goal has always been to provide people with the precise tools they need to make specialized training and education as streamlined as possible,” Jeff Walter, CEO of Latitude CG, said. “Process servers play a vital role in the judicial system and we’re pleased to know that LatitudeLearning is working robustly in this capacity.”
