Latitude Consulting Group Provides Reporting Tool for DaimlerChrysler Learning Management System
SALINE, MI (July 10, 2007) - Latitude Consulting designed a new reporting tool that allows the DaimlerChrysler Academy (DCA) to produce more timely and accurate reports from its Learning Management System, used by its dealers and corporate staff.
The new tool, based on the Business Objects system in DaimlerChrysler, replaces a less flexible system that was difficult to update and limited in scope. In the previous system, training data was isolated from other financial and business information, and the system did not allow for ad hoc reporting. The time lag between real-world changes and the appearance of that data in a report could be as much as 24 hours to a week.
The new tool that Latitude designed and developed enables DCA management to change reports rapidly for presentation to dealers and corporate users as their business requirements change. This intelligence system combines numerous data feeds from several companies—such as those that distribute surveys to measure customer satisfaction and service satisfaction—and stores the information in a DaimlerChrysler data warehouse.
From this warehouse, the Business Objects reporting tool provides DCA with a set of reports to help them evaluate and improve dealer training effectiveness. These reports range from usage of training facilities to the quality of training instructors and the way specific training affects performance. Among the benefits of the new application is the ability to correlate satisfaction scores with certification and training in a single report.
“This tool ties together all the indicators that DaimlerChrysler Academy trainers need to gauge the way they are changing the face of their company,” said Latitude Consulting senior consultant, Mark Place. “It provides a way for DCA to measure the true impact of its training programs and to measure the speed of learning innovation that it offers.”
