We asked your opinions on the eLearning authoring tool Publisher by Lectora to gauge your opinion. Cincinnati based Lectora publishes a suite of eLearning related products for a variety of users. Ease of use, flexibility and an intuitive user interface are touted as key benefits. Publisher is promoted as an easy to use and reliable rapid authoring solution for standard use. We received dozens of responses and have carefully analyzed the results. Many respondents noted the quality and ease of use as major advantages, while others lamented the lack of advances features. Nonetheless, we've reviewed the feedback and as our exclusive "Satisfaction Meter" indicates, the overall User Satisfaction index of -7 suggests that most users are less than satisfied with Publisher.
How They Rate Publisher
Publisher received an average rating of 7.64 from respondents when asked the likelihood of recommending to a friend, where 0 is "not at all likely" and 10 is "extremely likely". Interestingly while 43% of respondents gave a rating of 9 or 10, another 50% gave a rating between 0 and 6. Overall roughly 7% of all respondents gave it a rating of 7 or 8.

What They Like about Publisher
Overall people liked the quality and ease of use offered by the Publisher tool set . Some also noted that the software layout is relatively easy to understand and navigate. Among the comments we received:
"I've been using Lectora Inspire for the last 4 years and haven't found a situation yet that it can't handle."
"I like the easy steps of understanding during the presentations. It's easy to follow and learn."
What They Don't Like about Publisher
When asked what users didn't like about the software, several offered very strong objections as evidenced by multiple low ratings and the lowest recorded rating of 0. This would seem to indicate that many users were disappointed with the software's features and overall performance.
"Start up is a bit rough because there are a lot of powerful things it can do. However the company does provide turtorials, white papers, a help feature and webinars to get you started."
"The lack of a mac version, cost, and HTML 5 animations are lacking"
When They Use or Recommend Publisher
The majority of those who commented said they used Publisher to develop internal training content for distribution to a group of learners.
"I've been using Lectora Inspire for the last 4 years and recommend it to other developers and Instructional Designers when they talk about reseraching a different tool "
"Creation of study materials for a wide range of users."
