Barkefellers offers family-like environment to build trust with Franchisees
Saline, Mich., October 19, 2015 - Barkefellers is an award-winning upscale pet hotel that recently opened its third corporate owned Indianapolis store location. Barkefellers is a family owned and operated business and has been franchising since 2014. This pet hotel offers four complementary businesses, and four streams of revenue, under one roof: dog and cat lodging, dog daycare, pet grooming and obedience training services. Their superior customer service, luxury amenities, clean facilities and well-trained staff makes visiting Barkefellers more of a treat, rather than a chore, for both the pet owners and the guest of honor.
How does Barkefellers train its franchisees?
Potential franchisees start of their journey at Barkefellers' Discovery Day, where all three corporate locations are visited. Here, franchisees get the opportunity to view the three different store levels offered: 18,000, 28,000 and 38,000 square feet locations. Barkefellers also takes the opportunity to start training at this stage. Franchisees start to learn about dog behavior, mainly through video training. Krista Coffey, VP of Customer Relations, explains that the whole Barkefellers team is very involved in new store transitions "We go out initially for a couple weeks, experience their grand opening with them. Then we consult with them every 2-3 weeks and visit the locations every six months".
Barkefellers prides themselves on being a family owned business and assures franchisees the same close-knit, family environment when joining their team. Rick Coffey, owner and CEO of Barkefellers, says "We are a family business and when we gain a franchisee they will become part of the family. In our industry, it's more than just selling candy. This business is very close, intimate and personal to the recipient." Barkefellers believes in treating their customers like family too. This gains the trust needed in their industry to gain a customer for life. "When a customer hands you their pet, that transfer is really important to us. That customer is saying 'we trust you to take care of our pet while we're gone', and that's different from a lot of other franchise business services offered".
Recognized in central Indiana for its superior facilities and services, Barkefellers will continue to expand regionally and nationally by opening franchises. The initial investment range for Barkerfellers is between $200,000-600,000 with a minimum capital requirement of $500,000. WIth over 14 combined years of experience, Barkerfellers also offers help through the important process of site selection, zoning approval, ease of access and facility exposure.
