Hello from Latitude R&D! This is Brooke Oprsal with a monthly update on some of our activities regarding the LatitudeLearning LMS product.
Recent Product Enhancement - Dynamic Course Shell and System Checker
LatitudeLearning will be going live with a new Course Shell and System Manager on 3/31/19.
Your eLearning courses will launch in a full-size window/tab instead of the fixed dimension popup. If you have designed responsive course content, this dynamic shell will accommodate your ideal user experience. It is compatible with all major browsers (Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Microsoft Internet Explorer 11/Edge, Mozilla FireFox), and is mobile-friendly for learners on the go.
Now is an ideal time to upgrade our LMS with a dynamic SCORM shell, as Adobe has announced end of support for their Flash Player in 2020. Many industry-leading browsers are already updating their platforms to address this upcoming deadline, which in turn is beginning to impact the presentation of Flash-dependent courseware. So as many administrators prepare their courseware for the sunsetting of Adobe’s Flash Player, we are working to optimize the course launch experience.
This enhancement bundle includes additional tools to improve course usability, with an optional system requirements checker and built-in navigation menu for multi-SCO content.
Upcoming Releases
The next enhancements to be released will be a new Approvals page, in the new user interface, and updating all user group tools, to express membership as a profile attribute through standard UI components.
There will also be changes to how scoping is defined in Person to Person relationships. An administrator will be able to view all direct reports, regardless of organization.
The following enhancements will be completing the Student experience in the new UI, including a Team Certification page, Team Skills page, a new Featured Courses page with a new tiled based look, and finally a new Course Catalog.
