Hello again from Latitude R&D. This is Tom Merritt with a monthly update on some of our activities regarding the LMS.
Recent Product Enhancement - More on Open Development
As stated in last month’s newsletter, we have moved to an “open development” methodology. We believe it gets our clients more involved, and future customers as well, when they can see what we’re doing with the LMS and register their vote of approval. We want to “share ownership” in the direction of the product, so that your voice is heard and we gain a better sense of what is important to you.
This also means that little things matter. Just a few votes on a proposed enhancement can make the difference between us leaving a proposed enhancement on the cutting room floor or picking it up and running with it. You can see the current proposed work here.
Upcoming Releases
Our work on Unlimited enrollments and audience types is almost ready for the first stage of QA. We’re wrapping up the primary development work by the end of this week.
Proposed Enhancements
The list of enhancements and suggestions continues to grow. Here are a couple new ones:
Allow portal administrators to upload and choose the logo for certificates.
Enhance LatitudeLearning so that a non-assessment course can include a LatitudeLearning assessment which will be used to score the course and a LatitudeLearning survey assessment.
Reengineering the Goal Transitions to an Automated Goal Assignment functionality so that administrators can easily see all the automated goals assignments.
As always, we want your opinion. Please review them here.
What’s Coming
The reporting engine is still under development and some parts of it are just about ready for review. We’ve also taken a good, hard look at some other things and are considering them for development the remainder of this year, some of it dependent on when we can finish up the reporting engine. We’ll tell you more about them in upcoming newsletters.
