The Latitude Learning Team announces the latest release of the Latitude Learning LMS. This release Version (2.5.1.68968) was promoted to production on Sunday, December 13, 2015.
Enhancements
Enroll Others – Updated the enrollment eligibility check to prevent LMS administrators from enrolling students in a course that is not tied to the students’ Business Unit, according to active profile assignments.
Enrollment in “Hidden” LMS courses – To meet specific training needs, we have enhanced course configuration settings to allow Portal Administrators to hide a course from Catalog Search results and still enroll themselves or others. By leaving a course “Enrollment Close Date” field blank and entering a current “Course Hide Date”, Portal Admins can now prevent all other users from being able to search/find/enroll themselves in a course, but are still able to enroll others as an administrator.
Note: Hidden courses will not display on enrolled users’ homepage, as open courses do, however they will trigger standard enrollment notifications and are displayed under the users’ “History” tab.
Location Configuration – Revealed “User Registration / Activation” fields for all LMS portals. This feature provides administrators additional settings that control user registration at the Location level, including: Default # Active Days for Users, Maximum users allowed for this Location, User Type, Self-Registration Open and Close Dates.
Certification Tab – For those using our certification feature, we have enhanced the Home page “Certification” tab to simplify the course enrollment and launch experience. By replacing the enrollment eligibility pop-up window with a direct link to the Course Details/Course Offerings page, students can now enroll in and launch course content from same screen with just two clicks.
Resolved Issues
User Groups – Modified this feature so that administrators can add or remove a user from a User Group, even when the associated profile is NOT the user's Primary Profile.
Course Majors – Fixed configuration settings to tie Majors to the Business Unit (BU) level, instead of Company. To avoid conflicting course-major setup, we added a system check to block administrators from removing a BU from a major that hosts active courses assigned only to shared BU.
Note: Portal Administrators can still use the “Search Majors” tool to find all records company-wide.
Auto-enrollment in Classroom Course Offerings – Updated enrollment eligibility checks to allow for timely user auto-enrollment in Classroom (or Virtual Classroom) course Offerings.
Note: Auto-enrollment service is based on Offering configuration and availability (Meeting Times scheduled 5 - 90 days from date of student request/enrollment eligibility), is scheduled to run every eight hours, and requires that users pass all enrollment eligibility checks.
Closed/Cancelled Classroom Offerings – Fixed a bug that was preventing administrators from opening the “Actions” tab on Classroom Offerings in closed or cancelled status.
