The Latitude Learning Team announces the latest release of the Latitude Learning LMS. This release Version 2.5.1.66972 was promoted to production on Sunday, February 15, 2015.
Enhancements:
Add Interest – Ability to Add Organization – In response to ongoing demand for mass enrollment options by our portal administrator community, this release includes initial code updates to pilot a new Add Interest option. More specifically, this enhancement provides the ability to choose a course and add that course interest for an entire organization (i.e. a single Company, Business Unit, Division or Location organization in the given portal). This mass add interest option supplements existing User and Course Add Interest functionality (i.e. which has and continues to allow administrators to select smaller collections of users and view eligibility at-a-glance for the target set of users). However, this new option targets larger target populations tied to the selected organization, then bypass at-a-glance eligibility checking and inserting an interest for the entire target population into the interest queue, which then processes these interests (and potential enrollments based on eligibility) over a period of time. This functionality is being piloted for specific portals during initial release; broader release to follow further beta review.
Resolved Issues:
Limit visibility of Retake Restriction and Accumulate Credit settings to Classroom and Virtual Classroom Delivery Methods only – With this release of the LMS, additional logic has been incorporated to dynamically display or hide the 'Retake Restriction' and 'Accumulate Credit' course settings. These settings can (now) be accessed under the 'Additional Information' expandable area for any facilitated course delivery method (Classroom or Virtual Classroom) in the catalog. As labeled, the Retake Restriction option can be used to define and enforce certain retake conditions for the end-user. This includes a default of 'Once Only', it can be set to allow 'Unlimited' retakes (e.g. in the case of a monthly all-hands safety meeting - same general course, but different offerings of that course each month), or it can be set to allow retake after an admin-defined number of calendar days (e.g. an annual requirement that can only be taken after 365 days since first completion). At this time, self-driven training activities (e-Learning, Assessment and Self-Study delivery methods) are still limited to Once Only by design, requiring administrator involvement to override that enrollment conflict during the Enroll Others process...However, this will be revisited and potentially revised later in 2015 based on feedback from our Administrative community.
Limit visibility of Days for Student to Complete and Reminder Days settings to Self-Paced Delivery Methods only - Similar to the update noted above, with this release additional logic was incorporated to dynamically display or hide the 'Days for Student to Complete (Due Date)' and 'Days Before Due Date to Remind Student' settings. These settings can (now) be accessed under the 'Additional Information' expandable area for any self-paced course delivery method (e-Learning, Assessment, Self-Study) in the catalog, as this was generally viewed by our portal administrator community as irrelevant and confusing when assigned for instructor-led, scheduled courses in the catalog.
International Date Format - Edit Majors / Position Groups Name Field Blank – This release included a fix to resolve reported issue where Name field was unexpectedly rendering as blank for international date formats.
