The Latitude Learning Team announces the latest release of the Latitude Learning LMS. This release Version (2.5.1.68347) was promoted to production on Saturday, August 29, 2015.
Enhancements
Self-Study Course Relaunch – Enhanced Self-Study course configuration options to allow “Can Relaunch : Yes/No” option. Users can now relaunch content for Self-Study courses that are set to allow it, even after the student has a completed transcript for said course.
Search/Edit User – Added a new “Edit User Account” button to search results of User => Search Users page for easier navigation. The new “Edit User Account” button will route administrators to the selected user’s “General Info” tab, while the original “Edit User Profiles” button will open the user’s “Profiles” tab.
Homepage “Employees” tab => Department Certification/Curriculum – Alphabetized certification and curriculum lists to make programs easy to find.
Subscriptions – Created new subscription course functionality to allow courses in active status to remain in an inactive subscription course list. Before the LMS update, this type of configuration would make the course configuration page (“General” tab) error out, forcing administrators to clear the course list from all inactive subscriptions. Now an inactive subscription course list can remain intact, courses will behave as usual, and the subscription can be reactivated at any time with a few simple clicks.
Users => Quick Profile Update – Enhanced the Location search filter to return a list of only Active Users by default. (i.e. Inactive Users will no longer show in “Search by Location” results.) When using the “Choose a User” option, it will still be possible to search by and select users in Active/Inactive/Both status.
Add Interest
– Added course configuration check for “Allow use of Interest Lists: Yes/No”. If selected course is set to allow interests, the process will proceed as usual. If a selected course does not allow the use of interest lists, the system will display a hard error during the Add Interest process.
– The “Add Interest by Organization” process will no longer look for Primary User Profile flags as a requirement. This update has corrected a reported issue with failed process behavior. Interests will now be added for every user with a profile in the selected Organization, assuming that all other course configuration settings allow for interest.
Resolved Issues
User Preferred Language – Fixed an issue where updating another user’s “Preferred Language” was also setting the LMS administrator’s (action user) Preferred Language to the same.
Left Navigation Menu => Locations – Fixed reported issue where “Country” and “State/Providence” searches were not returning results as expected. Also corrected the order of these search filters: Country first, then State/Providence.
Assessments display in “Self-Studies” – Updated a database storage procedure that caused Assessment courses to disappear from the “Self-Studies” section of users’ homepage after the user completed their first attempt. Now, if an Assessment is set to allow retake, that course will remain in the “Self-Studies” section, as expected.
Classroom Course “Offerings” tab – Fixed a bug that was allowing Offerings to be visible in the Training Calendar, but not on the “Offerings” tab of a Classroom Course. The issue was related to the selected “Training Type” of an Offering (Location/Corporate/Partner). If it was configured as a Location, the offering did show up in Course Details page. For offerings described as Corporate or Partner, administrators had to “Search Offerings” to find the entry. All types of offerings now display as part of Course details, on the “Offerings” tab.
Edit Messages
– Re-evaluated automated message functionality versus user interface settings and made adjustments. Namely, we removed the following options from "CC Recipient's Manager(s) having these Roles" field for ALL MESSAGES: Guest, Student, Instructor. This leaves the following four roles as options: Portal Administrator, Location Administrator, Location Manager, Administrator.
-- Fixed a bug that changed the “BCC” field on the Message Customization page to from optional to required whenever the “Language” field was set to anything but the default “English”.
