The LatitudeLearning Team announces the latest release of the LatitudeLearning LMS. This version, released to production Thursday, February 16th focuses on targeted enhancements to e-Commerce, Reports and Certification Management tools. In addition, a number of break-fix items reported by our user community were addressed in this promotion.
This release (version 2.5.1.62525) includes the following set of targeted enhancements:
e-Commerce – Automated Receipt Email and Message - As part of this update, e-commerce functionality has been enhanced to include a new credit card payment receipt that is automatically emailed to the purchaser, as well as posted to the user’s homepage Message Center. In addition to single course purchases by a student user, this functionality also provides an automated receipt for managers (or administrators) who are batch enrolling users for a course.
Certification - Generic and Primary Rule Picker Sort Order – This update enhance existing certification and curriculum management to provide for sorting of Generic and Primary Rule information alphabetically, based on the rule name. Prior to this update, the rules were sorted in date created sequence making them hard to find.
Reports - Global Report Exclusion Filter - in response to a targeted customer request, a new feature has been added that can exclude data for specified UserIDs from appearing on reports. This extension is useful if for example a customer wants to exclude test user data that might otherwise skew report results. At this time, Latitude’s support team must be engaged to configure the exclusion table. However, a future release may open this capability to authorized administrators.
Facilities - Hide Room Tab on Online Facilities – With this update, access to the Room tab was removed, since rooms are not appropriate for an online facility.
In addition to the enhancements listed above, the Latitude Learning team incorporated the following fixes to address valuable feedback and input from our user community:
Courses – Self-Study (Self-Certified Completion) – Customers reported that in cases where more that one self-certification transaction needed to be entered, the LMS was failing to process the second transaction. An update has been made to address this issue.
Organizations - Newly added Business Unit not appearing in certain drop-downs – Based on customer feedback, updates were made to address an issue impacting the availability of a newly created Business Unit immediately after the business unit was created. It was determined that the LMS was checking the create date to determined whether or not to display the new business unit, instead of evaluating the full date/time stamp. This issue has been addressed with this update to help resolve the following problem scenarios:
- Ability to Add or Search for users immediately following BU creation
- The visibility of facility information to instructors immediately after creation of the new BU
Courses - View / Edit Featured Courses – This update worked to resolve an issue where the View / Edit Featured Courses was being displayed to all LMS users unexpectedly. With this update, View /Edit Featured Courses Tab is now only visible to Portal Administrators and Instructors.
Courses - Majors – Previously, the course details page was displaying major description, instead of major name. With this update in place, the LMS is displaying the correct data element for Major.
Assessment Engine – Targeted Updates – Customers identified a couple of issues regarding Assessment Engine functionality:
Assessment - Timed Test Issue - Total Time Left displayed the following field caption " undefined:undefined". This issue has been addressed and the literal reads "hh:mm:ss"
Assessment - Next Button is not always displayed properly – When navigating back and forth between pages, the Next and Previous buttons were not reacting correctly in certain scenarios. This issue has been addressed.
Certification - Skill Profile, Skill and Skill Level Labels – Prior to the last update, curriculum Skill Profile was labeled as Category, Skill was labeled as Area, and Skill Level was labeled as Level. Several pages and reports were not fully updated to reflect the new nomenclature. With this update we believe that we have revised all references to these data items.
Certification - Skill Areas not updated in a timely manner – Prior to this update, the editing function for Skill parameters did not clearly denote whether a particular parameter was active or inactive, causing confusion and unexpected results. To address this issue and reduce confusion, this updates includes two changes; first each item skill parameter is tagged as being active or inactive; second, text has been added to alert the user that definition of Skill Levels is required to display curriculum on the curriculum tree.
Certification - Sort Order for Skill Profile, Skill and Skill Level – Prior to this update, drop down menus for Skill Profile, Skill Area and Skill Level displayed information in date sequence rather than alphabetically, making them hard to use. With this update, Skill Profile and Skill Area are sequenced alphabetically; the primary sort for Skill Levels is based on the ordinal assigned to each level.
Certification - Error when viewing Elective Generic Rule with no courses assigned – Prior to this update, users received an error message when they attempted to view generic rules with no courses assigned. With this update the error no longer occurs.
Certification - Edit Goal Transitions - Prior to this update, the buttons to Move Up/Move Down/Remove displayed incorrect characters at the end of text label. When clicking on the Move Up or Move Down buttons, the first click highlighted the row and then the second click actually moved the row, only one click should be required. With this update, both items have been addressed.
Certification - Status Filter is not populated in the Search Certifications – prior to this update, the Certification Status Filter did not display "Active", "Inactive" or "Both" in the list box. With this update, these literals are now displayed.
Certification - View Goals, Edit Goal Transitions and Override Objectives Certification Pages generating errors if Program is not numeric. – Prior to this update an error occurred on these pages when users accessed them and the Program was not numeric. With this update, Program can be alpha or numeric.
Latitude Learning Default Login Page - prior to this update, users accessing the main Latitude Learning LMS login page (via lms.latitudelearning.com) would see Latitude’s default styling. With this update, lms.latitudelearning.com login page has its own style configuration.
