The Latitude Learning Team announces the latest release of the Latitude Learning LMS. This release (version 2.5.1.62531) was promoted to production on Thursday, March 1st and focused on enhancements to virtual classroom functionality and updates to interest-based course enrollment, as well as a targeted fix to resolve a logout issue when accessing areas tied to certification and curriculum management.
Virtual Classroom Course Completions – This update addresses an issue that was preventing an automated nightly roster processing service from running, thereby failing to generate course completion records for users who had successfully attended a given virtual class offering. With this update in place, students who have successfully completed the course (based on % of time in-session) will be granted ‘Attend’ status, which can be viewed with other transcript information under his/her History tab.
Virtual Classroom Automated Emails – This update works to address a client-reported issue where previously disabled administrative emails were unexpectedly being auto-generated and emailed to those administrators and student-users tied to a given virtual classroom offering. With this update in place, the LMS once again provides only those relevant system-generated emails (e.g. enrollment notification) that would be expected as part of the virtual classroom enrollment process.
Virtual Classroom Teleconference Information – For those customers wishing to bypass the integrated VoIP (voice-over IP) option and instead publish conference bridge information (phone and access code) for their virtual classroom offerings, this update allows for the population and display of conference bridge information for a given LMS. When this has been configured by the Latitude Learning Team, the information will be displayed for administrators and users as appropriate under the ‘Telephone’ option in the user interface.
Courses – Interest List Management (Auto-Enrollment) – This update enhances existing course management, allowing the administrator to define whether interest-based enrollment will be available for a given course. This checkbox option has been enabled, so that authorized administrators can simply select this option during the course add (or edit) process in the LMS. Selection of Interest-based enrollment for a given course allows administrators to use a demand forecasting model, where users express an interest in a course before the course is available, or before an offering has been scheduled in the LMS. Administrators can easily report on interest counts and details using existing on-page and printable reporting available in the LMS.
Curriculum Management - Logout – For those customers utilizing the Certification/Curriculum Management capabilities in the LMS, this issue addresses an issue that was unexpectedly hiding the logout prompt/pop-up behind the existing Curriculum Tree display, thereby impeding logout from that location in the LMS.
