The Latitude Learning Team announces the latest release of the Latitude Learning LMS. This release (version 2.5.1.62567) was promoted to production on Sunday, April 8th and included the following updates:
Enhancements to Course Details area, adding button to View Certificate - In response to customer requests to make it easier for students to print or reprint completion certificates, a certificate print button now appears on the Course Details page when students have credit for the course.
Multiple enhancements to the Training History area to better display offering information and provide easy playback of virtual classroom recordings - In response to customer requests, training history (accessed via the History tab in the LMS home page) has been enhanced to show the actual offering the user enrolled in when they click on the course name for a Classroom or Virtual Classroom course. This allows the user to review offering information, and playback Virtual Classroom courses that were recorded. Other courses types such as e-Learning and Self Study continue to show the course details information as before.
Enhancements to the Announcements area, expanding the acceptable message length entered by administrators - This update addresses a reported issue where an announcement was not sent out due to the fact that customer entered more than the 3000 characters supported by the LMS into the message body. With this update, the user sees how many characters have been entered and will be limited to 2200 characters (800 characters are reserved for xml tagging needed to support messaging).
Updates to Course management, ensuring that duplicate course codes will not cause course content to be overwritten - This update resolves a reported issue by identifying content folders on the content server by unique ID instead of using the course code, because courses may reuse the same code with different version numbers or categories within your portal.
Adjusting configuration of Latitude's own Setup Administrator (role) - This update ensures that users tied to this role are not appearing in any employee or user selection lists.
Updating Certification and Curriculum settings to ensure Program search results are appearing in alphabetic order - This update is in response to the several customer requests that the results of the Program Search be displayed in alpha order.
Resolving an issue that was causing the General Information tab to be hidden unexpectedly under certain circumstances - Several customers reported an issue where the General Info tab disappears after clicking on a user’s Certification, Curriculum or History tabs, with this update this issue has been addressed.
Updating Course Enrollment Messaging to allow the suppression of messages for certain Non-ILT course types - With this update, the Latitude Learning Team can configure customer LMS portals so that enrollment messages are suppressed for any or all of the non-ILT course delivery types, such as Assessment, Self Study, and SCORM.
Resolving an issue where adding CC: roles to Messages was not working as expected - This update addresses a customer reported issue where new CC roles were checked off however they were not saved when the user submitted the updated.
Updating existing Offering management to resolve an issue where an error was being received when attempting to add additional Meeting Times to existing offerings. This update addresses an customer reported issue noted that when attempting to add a second day Meeting Time for an established offering, the user received an error stating: "Portal exceeded maximum Virtual Classroom sessions", even though their portal is not configured for VCO, and the related offering is 'Classroom' delivery type, not ‘Virtual Classroom’.
Adjusting Certification and Curriculum management functionality to address an issue where the Curriculum Page was not showing the correct goal requirement - This update addresses a reported issue where the Curriculum page displays “Complete all of the following courses” when in fact the student only needs to complete some of the courses to get credit for a given Skill Area. With this update, the text better clarifies what it required and states “Complete the required number of the following courses” in cases where completing ALL courses is not required. An enhancement is anticipated in the future to display the actual number of courses that must be completed.
Enhanced Certification and Curriculum on-page help and instructional text to better explain use of Program Configuration functionality - Screen literals, on-page explanatory text and page help text has been updated to assist LMS customers more effectively use the Program Configuration functionality.
Updating functionality so that training completed in a non-primary portal is accurately displayed in primary portal “Recent Training” section on the LMS Home Page - This update addresses a reported issue where a user completed training in a secondary (non-primary portal) and then did not see the course listed in his primary portal’s Recent Training section.
Adjusting configuration so that Subscription Controls Appear on Home page only if Subscriptions exist for that LMS - In response to customer requests, with this release the Subscription control on the LMS home page will appear only if there are subscriptions courses available.
Adjusting page formatting to ensure that Self-Certified course window is sizing correctly.
Resolving issue causing error when Copying Curriculum - This update addresses a reported issue where the user received an error message when attempting to copy a curriculum.
