The Latitude Learning Team announces the latest release of the Latitude Learning LMS. This release (version 2.5.1.62640) was promoted to production on Sunday, October 21, 2012 and included the following updates and enhancements...
ENHANCEMENTS
Link to Content (Video, Course, Site) for Self Study Courses - Latitude is pleased to announce initial release of a new feature that allows portal administrators to configure Self Study so that enrolled users can launch or link into content, including but not limited to YouTube or other third-party videos, as well as webinar replays (e.g. hosted via WebEx, Centra, iLinc, etc) and other internal or external resource sites. With this utility in place, authorized administrators can simply paste a qualified URL into the designated area while adding or editing a Self Study course...When populated, the LMS will activate a corresponding action button that appears to enrolled students from their home page and via the course details page. This feature is available on a limited release basis and will be promoted to general availability following a brief beta test period. Please contact Latitude Learning Support at Support@LatitudeLearning.com to learn more about this new feature.
Public Course Catalog - Latitude is pleased to announce initial release of a new public-facing course catalog configuration available to Latitude Learning LMS customers. This new add-on capability allows LMS customers to designate a public course catalog, then allow anonymous previewing of course catalog entries prior to requesting enrollment in the given course. The public catalog, in combination with our existing User Self Registration/Approvals process and e-Commerce functionality, gives our LMS customers a robust set of tools to manage and expose courses and offerings to public consumers. Please contact Latitude Learning Support at Support@LatitudeLearning.com to learn more about this new add-on capability and its powerful feature set.
Authenticated “Link” Resource Type - Latitude is pleased to announce availability of an extension to the recently announced “Link” Resource Type in the LMS. With this release of the LMS, customers can now access “linked” documents that are maintained in secured data sources such as MS SharePoint. Core single sign-on protocols can now be easily configured by the Latitude Learning Team so that authenticated ('trusted') users on your LMS would not be required to log into these secured data source when accessing these linked resources (documents, media files, etc). The new feature is available in limited release and will be generally available as an add-on capability following a brief beta review period. Please contact Latitude Learning Support at Support@LatitudeLearning.com to learn more about this new feature.
RESOLVED ISSUES
Series Courses / Interest Processing - This update addresses a couple of reported issues associated with Interest processing for Series Courses defined in the LMS. The first issue addressed interests that have been generated automatically by the Series Course process, where interests were not being processed when the successor course was an Assessment (delivery method). The second issue resolves an issue where customers were able to configure a circular reference where the targeted course could be defined as a successor or predecessor course to itself. With both of these issues have been addressed administrators can define a set of predecessor and successor courses, which makes for easy enrollment by student-users in a track of learning events.
Auto-Enrollment Not Processing Instructor Led Training (ILT) Interests – This update addresses a reported issue where auto-enrollment was not processing Classroom (ILT) interest records under specific scenarios. With the release, this defect has been addressed.
Thank you again for your valuable feedback and input into ongoing enhancements to the LMS. For additional information regarding these and other capabilities, please contact the Latitude Learning Support Team at Support@LatitudeLearning.com .
