The Latitude Learning Team announces the latest release of the Latitude Learning LMS. This release (version 2.5.1.62641) was promoted to production on Sunday, October 28, 2012 and included the following updates and enhancements...
ENHANCEMENTS
Advanced Self-Registration with SalesForce Contact Synchronization: Latitude is pleased to announce an exciting new add-on feature that is now available to Latitude Learning LMS customers. Latitude Learning’s new SalesForce Contact/Profile Management add-on supports linking and synchronization of contact information between the LMS and SalesForce. Use of existing API's allows the LMS to communicate key user information to SalesForce for the purpose of 1) linking to existing SalesForce Contact records, or 2) creating new SalesForce contacts based on the existence of that contact in SalesForce. With this enhancement Latitude has updated the LMS to allow authorized administrators to populate SalesForce Contact ID information for existing LMS user accounts or pass key LMS user account information back to SalesForce for the purpose of new Contact creation tied to an existing SalesForce Account. This enhancement will further ensure that (based on customer requirements) 'source' customer account and contact information can remain in their CRM system, while leveraging and synchronizing that data with the LMS for the purpose of ongoing training administration. Please contact Latitude Learning Support to learn more about this new add-on feature.
Authenticated “Link” Resource: Latitude is pleased to announce general availability of the recently released “Linked” Resource feature. With this release of the LMS, all LMS customers will be able create and manage Resources that “link” users to externaly videos, documents, sites, as well as allowing for 'deep-linking' users to courses and content hosted within the LMS. Additionally, with Latitude's new Secure link option (add-on) in place, users will be able to link to secure resources and site content (e.g. MS SharePoint hosted content). Please note that if single sign-on functionality is desired, customers will need to contact Latitude Learning Support to have their SharePoint credentials configured for their LMS. Please contact Latitude Learning Support or visit our FAQs to learn more about this new feature, and the secure link option.
