The Latitude Learning Team announces the latest release of the Latitude Learning LMS. This release (version 2.5.1.64288) was promoted to production on Sunday, April 14, 2013 and included the following updates:
ENHANCEMENTS
e-Learning (SCORM) Content Deployment Enhancements: The Latitude Learning team is pleased to announce targeted improvements to SCORM content upload and deployment functionality on the LMS. These updates expand the set of tools and simplify configuration of course display and key navigation options via a new set of settings available via that course’s SCORM tab. Initially, this update simplifies the process so LMS administrators no longer need to rename SCORM content files to match the Course Code, nor is it required to remove the .ZIP extension from content packages exported from your 3rd party authoring tool (e.g. Articulate, Captivate, Lectora or the like). Additionally, authorized Portal Administrators can now control sizing for the pop-up window invoked during course launch directly from the SCORM tab, versus the need to incorporate supplemental configuration (shell_config.xml) files into the content package prior to deployment in the LMS. To vies updated information regarding this enhancement and related SCORM deployment instructions, please refer to FAQ: https://www.latitudelearning.com/lms-documents/elearning-course.
Virtual Classroom – Guest Link Enhancement: The Latitude Learning team is pleased to announce the availability of a new feature that makes the “Guest URL” available to Administrators as part of the virtual classroom offering setup process. This enhancement, which was requested by our administrator community, provides easy access to the “Guest URL” so that authorized instructors and administrators can share this URL with external participants not registered on the LMS (or as a back-up in the event a user is challenged logging into the LMS/virtual classroom offering). External students can then leverage this URL to link directly to the into the session. PLEASE NOTE…Although these users will be able to attend and participate in the session, their enrollment and attendance will not be tracked/recorded by the LMS when using this direct (back-end) link into the virtual classroom offering.
ISSUES
Error Message when using Manual Calculation: This updates addresses an issue that was reported by our administrator community after having received an error message in a case where an elective rule with one or more courses required for completion was defined, however no courses were associated with the rule (a somewhat common scenario). With this update an error message is no longer displayed.
Impersonation Issue in Firefox, Chrome and Safari: This update addresses a reported issue where an Administrator, using the above-captioned browsers, attempted to impersonate a user which had multiple profiles. In this case the profile list feature did not display available profiles for the user.
Thank you again for your valuable feedback and input into ongoing enhancements to the LMS. For additional information regarding these and other capabilities, please contact the Latitude Learning Support Team at Support@LatitudeLearning.com .
