The Latitude Learning Team announces the latest release of the Latitude Learning LMS. This release Version 2.5.1.65112 was promoted to production on Saturday, April 26, 2014.
Enhancements:
Certification Management Feature Update – Latitude is very pleased to announce several updates intended to simplify and more easily configure certification programs for those customers utilizing this add-on toolset. The following updates were promoted:
- Program and Program Names are now combined into a single unique key. This allows administrators to better enforce rules regarding the naming, timing and description of certification Programs.
- Programs no longer show by default in drop-down list after the Program End Date has passed, thus hiding Programs that are no longer considered to be active.
Password Notifications – Latitude is very pleased to announce the release of several updates that were requested by portal administrators, specifically intended to further reduce the possibility of password information being visible to others. With this update the following logic will be applied given various user password update scenarios:
- User Password Reset - No changes to existing functionality; new password is auto-generated and user is automatically notified.
- User Password Update via My Details tab - Removed 'Auto-Generate' option AND disabled system notification.
- Administrator-driven password update for given user - Updated General Information tab functionality so administrator will have the following options: 1) Enter/confirm custom password and then have the ability customize the message sent to users either to include password or just send acknowledgement.
- Add User – no change.
My Employees Tab Enhancements – This targeted set of updates enhances existing views of direct reports via the My Employees tab in the LMS. The first update, re-labels the existing ‘Employees’ view as ‘Location Employees’ to better reflect the location-specific view of subordinate employees down the set of position-to-position reporting relationships in your LMS. In addition, a new ‘All Direct Reports’ was created to display the set of immediate direct reports (i.e. one level down in the reporting hierarchy) across any/all locations that the credentialed user has profiles in, versus needing to activate secondary location profiles to see the related set of users.
Expanded Character Length for Username – This targeted set of updates expands the accepted number of characters for Username in the LMS to 100 characters (for all new portals generated in the LMS). This arises from the ongoing desire for more and more clients to utilize lengthy email addresses as unique Usernames in the LMS, however was previously limited due to the number of characters accepted.
Resolved Issues:
Enrollment Emails Sent to Users Not Specified – this update addresses a reported issue where emails were being sent (copied) to portal users that were not specified to be CC’ed on the given message.
Message inadvertently inactivated by Message Editor – this update addresses a reported where the Message Editor was inactivating the default message when a custom message was updated.
No Active Profile Message Updates – this update addresses a reported issue where the user was not receiving adequate on-page feedback if he/she was attempting to login, but had no active profile in the LMS.
