Student Workflow

Icons offer single-click navigation to your established Home page, to the Navigation menu, or to Online Help.

• Access your Home page by clicking the home  icon. 
• Check your Messages with the mail   icon. 
• Trainers can click the gear  icon to access their Administration page.
• Each page offers an Online Help   icon.
• To view profile details, Switch Profiles, or Log Out, click on your name in the upper right corner.

   Navigation Menu icon at left opens a list of all the LMS tools available to you, the learner.  Open the menu, then click any page in list to navigate away. To remain on page, simply   Close  or click off the menu.

Navigation Page

Navigation page remains an option for your LMS "Login Landing Page" or "Home Page" settings. Otherwise, the new Navigation Menu has replaced this functionality.  Learn more HERE.   

Manager WORKFLOW

The My Team Dashboard provides new ways to view your people, manage their training goals, and track team progress. 

Get started from the Navigation menu by clicking the My Team  icon. While the My Team list defaults to people who report to you at your Default Location, filters allow you to view employees across all active profiles. It includes training summary graphs, user filters, and a results list with profile detail and action buttons. Horizontal tabs allow you to navigate between team management tools.



Employee Overview – People with assignments past due are flagged with a red indicator circle on their User  Status icon. Click this Status icon to expand the view of an individual's account information and profile details. From these details, additional icons provide an overview of the user's training plan, including their list of Courses To Complete  , Assigned Goals  , Training History  , and for those using accreditation programs, their Highest Accreditation Level  . Click any of these icons to drill down for further details. 

Team Views – Use the tabs at top of page to navigate between team views.

• People are listed with their reporting profile details. Expand each user record to view the employee's training plan and highest accreditation-based achievements.
• Goals are displayed with User, Due Date, and Status information. Watch your team's to-do list move from Assigned to Achieved as people complete their certification and course goals.
• Accreditations are listed by Name and Program Year, providing achieved transcript counts and a shortcut to the goal assignment wizard. Employees are grouped by their status in each accreditation, expressed as an assignment or achievement with an Accreditation Progress bar and course drill-down options.
• Skills are competency-based learning programs, where a person's training history and job performance can certify their professional knowledge and abilities. Skill Profiles display not only the number of certified employees in each Skill Area, but also who has been assigned goals for each Skill Level, and who is best qualified to tackle the next level.
• Approvals page presents user requests for new account registration, security lockouts, interest list additions, or course enrollments. Approve or deny such requests with the click of a button.

Action – Each page within the My Team dashboard offers quick action buttons to easily manage training plans and track progress. Click the [+Goals] button to open the Assign Goals tool from any page. 

ADMINISTRATOR WORKFLOW

Users assigned an LMS administrator role -- Location Administrator, Instructor, Administrator, or Portal Administrator -- will continue to access their training tools by clicking the gear icon in header. The gear icon points to an Administration page that provides access to their "My Learning Center" menu and "Favorite Tools" list.

How to Upgrade

Transitioning to this icon-driven UI will require a migration plan and change management. But the benefits are clear, and the process of switching itself is very simple. Plus, we are dedicated to providing the knowledge and resources Portal Administrators need for a smooth upgrade experience. 

When you are ready to migrate your Classic LMS to the new platform, change two settings under Site Management > LMS Information > LMS Configuration.

• Login Landing Page: Set the first page users see when they log in. If set to Navigation, they will see the icon-based Navigation page. This can be set to any page you wish.
• Home Page: Select the page to which users should be directed when they click your Header Logo or the Home icon.  This can be any page you wish.

• Site Management > LMS Information page settings "Home Page" and "Login Landing Page" control user navigation options and workflows in your LMS.
• Navigation Page Editor - Learn how to customize which icons display on your LMS Navigation page.
• Edit Administrator Favorite Tools - Customize quick access to your most frequently used Administrator tools.
• The My Team Dashboard - A new place for managers to view all aspects of employee training activities.
• Training History - View your transcript history for courses and certification/curriculum-related activities.
• Track and Manage Goals and My Goals - Assign Goals to your employees and view your own goals and status.
• Courses to Complete - A one-stop place for students to view upcoming training requirements. Includes Launching a Self-Paced Course and also lists Course Groups and Classroom Course Offering enrollments or goals. Note: The Required tab only displays if Display Next Required Training is activated on the LMS Information page.
• Compare Classic UI features to their Navigation page counterparts - you'll see that no functionality is lost ... and much is gained, including more control over the experience your provide to your users.
