Self Registration is a new standard feature in the Latitude Learning LMS that allows students to create their own user accounts. The enhancement relieves portal administrators of having to manually enter large numbers of users into the system. This document explains how typical user Self Registration works. It also provides instructions for LMS administrators who want to customize the registration form, configure their portals to require registration approval, or disable the feature all together.

There are several ways in which a Portal Administrator can customize the look and feel of the LMS. Many of these options target existing LMS pages, but it is possible to add new pages to the LMS. This extends your ability to present custom content, such as contact information, a standard operating procedures list, or other information your users might need. This feature allows you to embed videos, link to social media sites, add widgets, and link to videos hosted on external sites.  

The Latitude LMS Assessment Authoring Tool enables portal administrators to create, deliver and analyze a range of assessments, from simple quizzes to sophisticated exams. This document will describe how key features allow you to:

• Define multiple test objectives and sub-objectives
• Shuffle assessment questions in real time
• Shuffle answer choices in real time
• Create pools of questions for each test objective, allowing for randomization in each attempt
• Control the number of test attempts per participant
• Control session time limits
• Define pass/fail requirements

Portal administrators can customize the look and feel of their LMS using these key elements: HTML Content, Stylesheets, and Images. This document covers these three options at a basic level.

LMS users who teach instructor-led courses should be assigned the Instructor role. This Role allows them to manage course enrollments, interest lists, classroom offerings and rosters. The Student role represents the base level of user access rights in the Latitude Learning LMS. While this Role provides limited functionality, it is a critical component of the default set of Roles provided with the system. The majority of users in most LMS setups are students. Users assigned the Student role can search both Course and Resource catalogs, enroll in and launch courses they are eligible to take, as well as view the Training Calendar to enroll in instructor-led course offerings.  Review this document to learn more about the Student experience.  

User Impersonation is a unique and powerful capability provided to users assigned the Portal Administrator, Instructor or Administator role. This feature is generally used for advanced end-user support, as well as previewing and testing content or navigation.  

Facilities are established as part of your LMS Training Structure to define where physical and virtual instructor-led training events are conducted. You can assign rooms and equipment to facilities, which are then reserved when a classroom course is scheduled.  This document provides instructions on how to add and edit training facilities and their associated resources.

Interest lists help an LMS student express interest in a course for several reasons, including: 

• There is no existing classroom offering available.
• The student is unsure of their ability to attend or take the course (i.e. scheduling, budget, managerial approval).
• The student enrolls in a course that is part of an established series of coursework.

When administrators create courses, they establish whether or not a Certificate of Completion is available to students who complete the course. Therefore, not all courses that you complete may provide the option to print or view a certificate. This document provides instruction on how to find, view and print a Certificate of Completion.
