We have recently released a Navigation Editor that allows you to pick and choose which icons you’d like to display/hide, and what order they appear on the Navigation page.

We started the New Year by rolling out a brand New Student/Manager Workflow. You’ll find a much simpler, cleaner look to the user interface, when accessing pages from the navigation icon.

Coming at the end of this month, the “What’s New” and My Messages pages will be released in the new UI.

To kick off the roll out of our New User Interface (UI), we have released a brand new LMS Header. This feature brings a fresh look and feel to the product, and introduces users to the icon-based design they can expect to find throughout the new LMS Experience.

LatitudeLearning is empowering Portal Administrators with a flexible new report writer tool, allowing them to create, organize, share, and execute custom reports. Extract the exact Course Transcript or Training Goal data you want from the LMS by defining a list of report criteria and result columns. Then name the report, save it to a folder, and run it any time.

Two recent LatitudeLearning enhancements improve the system’s ability to dynamically manage users who meet certain criteria and enroll large groups of users: Audience and Unlimited Enrollments. An Audience is a collection of users who meet certain criteria: they all have a specific set of job functions, they are all part of a specific organizational unit (or units), or they may have all completed certain training curriculums. Unlimited enrollments is a new approach for enrolling large collections of users via an offline process.

Last month we launched a click-through prototype to illustrate our design concepts for a new student experience with the LMS. You can see our approach to the next generation UI for the LMS: an extended use of icons, a completely new and refreshing approach to page layout and a responsive design that we think our clients will really appreciate. In addition, we have just completed a revision of some of the administrative interface. Some of our clients had informed us that they wanted to delegate more day-to-day management to the administrator role instead of having the portal administrator do all the work. To accomplish this, we implemented a new approach for several tools in the system, including Changing Quick User Search, Change the "Deactivate" button and Pre-populate the advanced user search page.

This monthly series will keep you informed on improvements and future enhancements that will make your LMS experience even more powerful. We have moved to an “open development” methodology, where we make clear to our clients what we’re working on. This means you can have a say in what is done and how it is done. Each enhancement being worked on has a due date, and each proposed enhancement has a “likes” rating, which determines the order in which it will be worked on.

This monthly series will keep you informed on improvements and future enhancements that will make your LMS experience even more powerful. 

Recent product enhancements: Course topics provide a browsable hierarchy of course categories, or topics, so users can browse the course catalog by topic instead of searching for keyword matches. Each topic can be subordinated to other topics, so you can have different branches for any subject. Moreover, if a course is associated with a topic at the bottom of the tree, it will show up when you are browsing at the top of the tree as well. This is an ideal way to provide your students access to the course catalog based on categories of subject matter content. All they need to do is browse! The switch to turn on Course Topics is located on the LMS Information page.

To date, when a portal administrator wanted users at a certain location to see specific branding, he or she could set up branding by location stylesheets and HTML content. However, they couldn’t go any further in terms of branding by organization.

We are continuing our momentum into this new year with yet more enhancements and capabilities.
Recent Product Enhancement – Required Training Widget
Some of our clients have asked for a clearer representation of required training for students; that is, a more focused way of defining or highlighting the training so students know what they should especially focus on. As an answer to this we created a required training widget. The required training widget would display required training for the student on their home page. In this case, required training is considered any training set as a certification or a curriculum goal on the student’s Goals tab. If it is set as a goal, it is considered required training.
